BRIEF: A wearable, mobile version of the signature PVC instrument. It must fit all the performers, be able to put on and off quickly and easily, be musically dynamic, and support a variety of special effects: confetti cannons, POV cameras, internal lighting, moving tentacles, etc.
SOLUTION: Borrowing from outdoor sports, we built a series of strong but lightweight backpack frames which would support years of iteration and variations, depending on the demands of the performance. Early versions had power and data running through a multi-channel cable snake but tech evolved enough that later models were battery operated and wireless. This project motivated development of our PVC MIDI trigger, which has found its way into a bunch of other thing
