BRIEF: Another iteration of a continuosly activated string instrument or drone instrument to create the “forever note”.
SOLUTION: A single bass string that is “bowed”, but borrowing from a hurdy gurdy mechanism where the bow is a revolving disc with rosin on it. There is a weighted flywheel and worm gear mechanism that keeps the disc turning. The mechanics are designed to require the performer to look as though they are making a bowing motion as a cellist would when really they are winding up a flywheel.
