BRIEF: A 2-4 string monophonic instrument that can be continuously activated via a rotating set of plektra.
SOLUTION: This piece is true form follows function, all mechanical elements of the instrument are exposed and create its framework, nothing extra here. Borrowing from slide guitar, a bar of metal slides up and down the “neck” on a linear bearing, changing the pitch of the strings. Fret positions are set via magnets. The performer rotates a disc rapidly plucking the strings to create a drone effect. Amplification is via piezo transducers.
